The brickwork and dot and dab at Leavenheath is done. Dot and dab is also known as a drylined wall. This is where plasterboard is attached to brickwork using dabs of adhesive or wooden battens. This creates a small gap between the plasterboard and the brickwork. It has the advantage of being quick, simple and economical, and can make the wall more durable without formation of cracks.
