Work is progressing well at our Newton Green site. The extension is coming along nicely.

We were asked to rebuild a chimney stack in Clare due to the bricks being perished. Incorrect materials had been used over the years, and the strong sand and cement has caused problems with the imperial bricks. We have completed a bespoke rebuild!

We have started a new job in Hadleigh this week carrying out repairs to a gable end. Incorrect products have been used on it over the years, which has affected the timber structure. Once we have made the repairs, we will be applying lime plaster.

These two images show the gable end before the render was removed.

Our high spec new build at Newton is looking amazing! This week we have installed a bespoke oak staircase, and oak-effect electric garage doors.

Work on the interior of the property at Little Cornard is now well underway. The bathroom, kitchen and hallway has had insulation board and plaster board installed. Plastering has been done and also the first fix plumbing and electrics.

Plot 2 at Newton is progressing well. We have completed the foundations and the block beams. Block beam foundations are great for noise reduction, and they are also a good way of making properties more fire-resistant. They are also suitable for underfloor heating systems.

The driveway is also coming along.

As you know, here at KE Jones & Son Building Services, we specialise in period property renovation and restoration. Ben is highly skilled in, and passionate about traditional building techniques. Therefore we were really pleased to start work at this listed building in Little Waldingfield. A listed building means that the building is deemed to be of national importance in terms of historic or architectural interest. This means that there are special rules which must be adhered to when working on the building, and permission always needs to be obtained before work commences on a listed building.

We will be doing more timber, lime, and wattle and daub repairs. We have started to expose the timber frame.

This moulding was on the building and will be going back on afterwards. It is the faces of two jesters, as a comedian supposedly lived at the property many years ago!

Wehave been busy at Newton. Work has started on our newbuild at plot 2. We have excavated the footings, and poured the concrete. The cart lodge is also coming along nicely.

We have now finished work at our Leavenheath site. New doors, windows, fascia and soffits have all been installed. We think it looks great!

Work is coming along nicely at one of our Newton Green sites. We are prepping for the extension and also getting the front ready for lime plastering.
